Wilmington College Young Equestrians Place at Nationals

WILMINGTON, Ohio (May 7, 2025)—Wilmington College’s Equestrian Team placed 11th in the nation at last weekend’s International Horse Show Association National Championships in Mill Spring, NC. Also, several individuals earned top accolades.


Paige Kopiec was fourth in Individual Level 1 and ninth in Team Level 2 And Olivia Chase was eighth in Team Ranch Riding, while Mia Reider was eighth in the Team Rookie competition, Kori Moore was 11th in Team Beginner, Hattie Hobbs placed 11th in Team Level 1 and Maegan Pearson was eighth in High Point Rider and seventh in Individual Open, The six-member team placed eighth in Team Reining and ninth in Team Open, ending up 11th overall in the nation!


Earlier this spring, WC won the regional team competition for the first time in its history and Pearson was the Overall High-Point Rider at both the Regional and National Semi-Final levels.


“This was a pretty impressive showing for such a small college and young team,” Coach Stephanie McConnell-Hill said, noting they took two freshmen, two sophomores, a junior and a senior to Nationals.
