Clinton County Homeless Coalition Shares Jamie's Story

Jamie and her family
Jamie and her family

"Jamie’s story is one of profound resilience, faith, and transformation. Her journey through hardships—domestic violence, homelessness, and the devastating loss of her husband—could have broken her, but instead, it became the catalyst for her ultimate healing and renewal. The pain of being abandoned by her husband and losing contact with her daughter left her feeling lost and isolated. Yet, in the midst of this overwhelming despair, Jamie found solace in her faith in God.

Turning to Bible verses like Romans 8:18 and Proverbs 3:5-6, Jamie found hope and strength to persevere. Her daily prayers and conversations with God became anchors, giving her the confidence to trust that, despite her struggles, a brighter future awaited. These verses not only guided her through her darkest moments but also helped her see the greater purpose behind her pain.

Through her faith, Jamie was blessed with a new and healthier relationship, the support of family and friends, and a home where she and her children could heal and thrive. Her story is a testament to the power of trust in God’s plan, showing that even in our deepest sorrow, there can be redemption, peace, and hope for a new beginning.

As Jamie continues to heal and build a future for herself and her children, her commitment to deepening her relationship with God remains central to her journey. Her story serves as an inspiring reminder that no matter how difficult life’s challenges may seem, with faith and God’s guidance, healing and renewal are possible."

Clinton County Homeless Coalition

Since 2021, the Clinton County Homeless Coalition (CCHC) has been committed to solving local homelessness and building a better community. The coalition participates in local service initiatives, such as the Clinton County School Supply Drive, Earth Day Clean Up, and more. Currently, they are helping a local veteran stay in his home. Each month, they share success stories of individuals who have been homeless and later changed their lives.

Initially formed as a Continuum of Care, an organization responsible for addressing homelessness locally, the CCHC became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in July of 2024. Its board includes members from local businesses, law enforcement, and community members.
