Conrad's Tire Express Opens on Rombach Ave

"Our people and our commitment to doing the job right and making sure that our customers have full transparency [is important to us]," stated Sam Jakabcic, Regional Vice President at Conrad's Tire Express and Total Car Care.

Conrad's Tire Express was founded in 1969 by Ed Conrad around the Cleveland area. Traditionally, Conrad's stores have been mostly located in northeast Ohio. However, in 2025, Conrad's partnered with Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers, a major tire and automotive sefvice retailer out of St. Louis, Missouri. Since banding together, the two have focused on expanding both brands and growing their presence across the nation, now operating 135 collective stores in eight states.

The Wilmington location of Conrad's Tire Express officially opened in January of this year. Sam shared the company's excitement to have a presence in Wilmington. He stated that the company has been purchasing previous automotive stores and renovating them to create more Conrad's store. Sam said that upon purchasing the Wilmington location, they refurbished the building, installing all new interior, painting, signage, and equipment.

At Conrad's, they offer "everything from oil changes and tires, to engine diagnostics." The facility is a full service repair facility, providing services like brakes, shocks, struts, engine work, timing belt work, and any other full service repair needs. Sam stated, "Expect that your car is returned back to you the way you got it, it's done right, and the experience and interaction that you have is a positive one."

In addition to their other services, Sam shared that the store partners with tire manufacturers to offer tire rebates every month. Conrad's offers walk-ins and does not require an appointment; however, customers can schedule appointments online or over the phone.

In addition to the Wilmington store, Conrad's opened six new stores in Ohio this year. They plan to open 17 more stores in the Midwest. "Expanding into new communities allows us to make car care more convenient and accessible," stated Dustin Dobbs.
