Clinton County Republican Party Pays Tribute to Charlie Kirk

Jim Rankin, Pastor and Chairman of the Clinton County Republican Central Committee

WILMINGTON, Ohio (October 1, 2025)—A large crowd gathered at the Clinton County fairgrounds to hold a candlelight tribute to Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10th in Orem, Utah, while speaking on a Utah college campus.

Jim Rankin said, “Charlie Kirk was a Christian American, a political and spiritual activist, entrepreneur, and media personality. He co-founded the conservative organization Turning Point USA in 2012 and was its executive director. He authored several books and spoke on hundreds of college campuses throughout America.”

The event was sponsored by the Clinton County Republican Party and led by Central Committee Chairman Jim Rankin. Key moments in the event were the highlighting of Charlie Kirk‘s message of faith, family, and freedom.

Pastor Jim Rankin said, “Charlie Kirk wanted to be best remembered for his courage in his faith.”
